You know how there's all those sexy little halloween costumes out there that you would never wear in public? Well they are a great way to pump up your lingerie wardrobe! If you watch those post-halloween sales where all the halloween stuff is like 75% off then you can get some serious role-playing props! :)
I encountered a friend of mine who had a total misconception of how conservative her husband was. It was interesting because both members of the relationship thought the other person was very straight laced and had no interest in trying new things. After this woman realized she had misread her husband she asked me how to break the ice. I gave her a few ideas of how to show him that she wasn't as reserved as he thought she was. It ought to be interesting to see how it plays out for them. Do you ever feel like your relationship might be like that? Sometimes I think we have these preconceived notions about our parterns, or ourselves, and not ever realize our full potential in our relationship. How sad!

I think this is so true in many relationships, I have always been hesitant to suggest things to my wife in fear she would think I'm a pervert. I have no interest in doing some of the wild and crazy thing I have heard about but would love to spice things up from time to time, I know she has her adventurious side as well but will never discuss what she want and if I happen to do something she really enjoys she seem hesident to talk about it, which leaves me wondering if I should ever do it again. Over the years sex became very almost mechanical where neither of us really enjoyed it and now it's just something we don't do. Yes sad and I wish I had learned the art of talking to my wife openly many years ago who knows maybe we would be more active than newly weds. There should be nothing taboo in a sexual relationship that is enjoyable to both the wife and husband, and for the things one or the other has no interest in the other one should accept it and respect their partners feeling. But don't ever just keep it to yourself you will regret it later in life.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad! Do you guys communicate much now? I don't think there's a point when you can't recover a fizzled sex life, if both people want it. If you're interested, I'd be happy to try and be a sounding board and see I can offer any suggestions.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer I just have no idea where to start. I will let you know if I do or maybe you could suggest something
ReplyDeleteI think that one of the HARDEST things for a couple-even if they want to-is talking about sex. It's so hush-hush for so long that vocalizing the subject is akward. I think that communication doesn't necessarily mean talking. Think back to what is something you're tried that you know she enjoys? Don't ask her to tell her why she enjoyed it, just try it again next time. If it's a certain position try to slowly maneuver into that position naturally and watch her reaction. If you think she likes role playing (I think it can bring a newness or spark into an old relationship that has gotten into a funk) take her to dinner and start to ask her questions about herself like a first date. It may seem silly at first but it can be a ton of fun! I'd love to hear how some "phsyical communication" works for you. You can always leave a little naughty present in her sock drawer to surprise her and get her mind going. I wouldn't recommend going off the deep end right away-but somethink like fuzzy handcuffs, flavored lube, a vibrating ring, or something along those lines; as long as you think it wouldn't weird her out.
